Media:

Today's class will begin the prep work for your Media project due on May 13th. The project is a look into the world of Advertising. Specifically, pick a product you feel has been successful globally or in North America and discuss the reasons why using the terminology you learned in class. The project can be completed on the computer or on Bristol board. Students will have the class to begin working on/planning their projects.

Journal:

Topic: Should Facebook lower the age of consent so younger users can have an account? List your reasons.

Library 8P :

Today Ms. Purvis will work on a drama exercise that pertains to your novel study book. She will take you through some exercises that will help convey more meaning from the text. Have fun!

Essay Writing: 8P and 8T:

Now that you have had experience practicing 5 paragraph essays, you can move unto different types of essays. We will begin this unit with Persuasive Essays. We did not have time for this lesson last week due to Badminton. You will be shown the technique, pros and cons, and together as a class we will write an example.

Today's class will involve working on our Mechanics unit. We will work on pages 223-228 in our workbooks. Pages 229,230 are for homework. Specifically, we are studying apostrophes.

                                              Today is Thursday May 9, 2013.

Novel Study 8P and 8T:

Today we will read Chapters 13-15 together in class. In addition, we will complete questions that pertain to those Chapters.

Sightlines:

Today we are reading a story titled: "A Wish named Arnold". It is located on pages 224-231 of the text. It is a short, fun story. We will complete Question 1 at the end of the story.
