Media:

Today's class will look at Canadian content in Global Media. Specifically, we will explore Canada's influence in music, film and TV. For homework, students will pick a famous Canadian musician or actor and write how she/he proudly reflected our heritage through media.

Journal:

Today's topic is on school holidays. Pick your favourite day of the year and describe why it is your favourite. Perhaps you like Halloween, Valentines Day or the last day of the year.

Essay Writing: 8P and 8T:

Today's class will focus on writing rough drafts of Essays. Students will be given a topic and will need to write a rough draft of a five paragraph essay-including the Prewriting, the development of a Thesis, the Introduction, Body paragraphs and a Conclusion- all within class time.

Today is Wednesday April 17, 2013.

Today's class will be to continue working on our Mechanics unit. We will work on pages 208-213 in our workbooks. Specifically, we are studying rules of the comma and the semicolon.

Library 8T :

Today is Thursday April 18, 2013.

Today is Bond Academy's annual SWIM MEET. We will be heading over to the Midland Pool to compete against each other, your teachers, and the Police. Good Luck!!Novel Study 8P and 8T:

Today you have a quiz on Chapters 1-6. Although we have read the Chapters in class, it is important for you to look it over once more before the quiz. Good Luck! If we miss class due to the Swim Meet, we will have the quiz in the afternoon or tomorrow.

Sightlines:

Today we are learning about Nelson Mandela and a little of what he is known worldwide for- his work in human rights. We will read a short story about him in our textbook. We did not have time for this story last week due to Badminton, but I think it is important enough to read as a class.
