Library 8P:
Today's class consists of fun, journalistic writing. You will be searching articles on a particular issue, reading the content, and practicing how to formulate a thesis based on the facts in the article. Ms. Purvis has some fun articles for you to read. Good Luck!
Essay Writing: 8P and 8T:
Building on the last few weeks, students will take their Prewriting paragraphs and begin to formulate Thesis'. As a class, we will develop a few examples. Then students will be able to practice on their own. Students will need to provide two attempts at a thesis by next week's class.

Novel Study 8P and 8T:
In lieu of my absence last class, we will first discuss what was covered while I was gone. Next, we will continue reading our new novel study book titled "The Skin I'm In". We will read Chapters 3 and 4 and discuss the book as a class. In addition, students will be creating a Glogster of the main character Maleeka. I look forward to seeing your creations!

Sightlines:
Again, due to my absence, we did not get a chance to discuss this story; however, I think it is an important story to cover. The story (and the man) are interesting ideas to discuss as a class. Therefore, today's class will be a continuation of last week.The story is titled: ``Raoul Wallenberg". It is located on pages 152-156 of the text. We will work on question 2 in class. I strongly suggest you Google Mr. Wallenberg (to have more insight into the history) as he played a crucial role during WW2 and the Nazi's treatment of the Jews.

Today is Friday April 5th, 2013.
Spelling
You haven't had Spelling class in a few weeks due to March Break and Easter. Therefore, you may need a reminder to study for your Spelling quiz this week on Lesson 21. We will have a Spelling Bee on Lesson 22 and complete exercises in class. Lesson 21 exercises are due today. The questions are on the website if need be.
