Essay Writing: 8P and 8T:

Today's class will focus on writing a rough draft of a standard essay. This is an extension on last week. This week, you will be asked to add the Prewriting part. As before, you will need to complete a 5 paragraph essay in class while being timed on each part.

Today is Wednesday April 24th, 2013.

Members of the boy's Ball Hockey team will be away at a tournament for the day.

Today's class will be to continue working on our Mechanics unit. We will work on pages 215-220 in our workbooks. Specifically, we are studying semicolons and colons. Page 221 is for homework.

Today is Thursday April 25th, 2013.

Today it is the girl's turn to win the ball hockey tournament for Bond. Members of the girl's ball hockey team will be playing in a tournament all day. Good Luck!

Novel Study 8P and 8T:

Today we are continuing to read the novel. We will start on Chapter 7 and read to Chapter 10. You will have an exercise to complete in class/homework.

Sightlines:

Today we are learning about Nelson Mandela and a little of what he is known worldwide for- his work in human rights. We will read a short story about him in our textbook. We did not have time for this story last week due to the Swim Meet, but I think it is important enough to read as a class.
